I recently published a novel, a novel of which I’m quite proud.  I have the chops and background to say, with confidence, that the story is well-written, well-developed, and the characters come off the page and come to life for the reader.  I’m not bragging, I’m just sayin’, as they say.  In the marketing process, though, I’m discovering I don’t particularly like commoditizing my work this way.  Not that I think it’s wrong, or immoral, or un-artistic.  I’m just not enjoying standing in front of groups for readings, or toting copies of my beautifully written baby into bookstores to solicit deals with the purchasing person.  I’d rather be writing, and letting all that other stuff happen by magic.

So here’s the magic.  I’m going to do my writing here, on this blog, and let people come to it as they will.  Perhaps no one will come.  Or perhaps only one will come.  If that’s you, welcome.

  1. On the heels of reading John Grisham’s Sycamore Row, I just finished Stephen Downing is Dead. Dan, in my humble opinion, you’ve written a novel on par with this great author. In fact, on many levels, a better more enjoyable read. You brought live to your characters and kept the suspense throughout the story. Thanks for writing and sharing a great story!
